PHD is a refreshing change from the multitude of mediocre commercial pet foods. It provides a stable stepping-stone for those seeking greater Wellness for their pets.

It is wellness that eliminates disease-not medicines, supplements or potions. If the internal stability of life is not there, the same disease will keep manifesting in ever new and different forms. Proper diet supports the energy and intelligence necessary for maintaining wellness. Without such a diet, health by any definition is impossible.

Practicing at the Fairfield Animal Hospital has gone from trying to contain disease to watching expanded Wellness. The old style of medicine-narrow definitions of disease and repeated cures-has quietly died. I can no longer ignore the fact that the medicines were not really helping; but just covering deeper wounds with flimsy bandages. This has been replaced with giving sound advice on ideal diets; prescribing natural remedies and watching the momentum of genetic expression unfold, unhampered, in countless ways of better health.

PHD Pet Food has been a great bridge for many patients. A healthy vital diet is the foundation for sustaining Wellness. Dogs and cats require unadulterated meat as the predominant food source. Many animals will get by, for a while, on recycled meat and chemical by-products, but the weakness caused by consuming alien and toxic substances keeps disease ready and waiting right below the surface.

From another perspective: FOOD IS MEDICINE AND MEDICINE IS FOOD, as is stated in Ayurveda. Without the wholesome, fresh diet of varied foods designed for the species in mind, medicines, no matter how natural, can act no better than a jumpstart for a dying battery. Natural raw food, fresh and alive, is needed to maximize life and is the fountainhead of real living and growth. It is my hope that PHD continues to keep its commitment of being a reliable stepping-stone for better living for pets; and through them, better living for their owners.
