Introduction: The Holistic Diet

Holistic is a simple way of saying we treat the whole pet. Your dog or cat’s behavior, happiness, health, longevity and overall well being are comprised of their environment, genetics, their emotional make-up and what you feed them. While we can’t control their environment or genetic pre-disposition, we can dramatically improve their diet which will enable them to be their best.

A complete and balanced diet for pets is one that includes a variety of fresh, whole and chemical-free foods. Dogs and cats are carnivores. They need meat. In the wild, they thrived on raw meats and predigested grasses and greens. The nutritional building blocks that your pet needs are usually missing from most commercial foods. Whatever nutritional value was there originally (and it’s never enough protein) is cooked out of it.

Health problems that plague our pets can be attributed to many things: genetics, over use of grains, overcooked food, inferior ingredients, chemicals or even freshness (or lack thereof) in the commercially prepared foods we serve them. Problems include: allergies, eczema, digestive disorders, auto-immune diseases, diseases of the kidney and liver, and yes, even cancers. The cure is simple. The purer the food, the better the digestion. That means there is greater nutrient absorption, and the animal is healthier. A healthy animal is more disease resistant and can expect to live a longer, happier life.

PHD alone; or better yet, combined with raw foods, will allow your pet to achieve a healthy immune system. Follow our diet path, just stand back and witness the changes. It has been proven that within two weeks to three months, you’ll see a definite increase in the health and vitality of your pet.
